Off to OT at 11.00 and Tracey left me to my programme, so worked pretty well independently which I really appreciated - took me the whole hour to get thru it as I upped everything by 1 set so gave my hand/s, shoulders and legs quite a workout. She'd left a note this morning to wear the hand brace, so I did and all the exercises were done with that on - and was a bit easier today. Then back up to lunch. Mrs Lamb rang me after I got back to the room and she said she's under control to fly out to NZ tomorrow. She said she talked to her Mum and she sounded like her usual self which had cheered her up a bit, but she'll be glad to see for herself I think.
I felt a bit fragile this afternoon but made myself go to Physio tho I did ask Nick to go easy on me, which he didn't and once I started, I was fine, even stood up well (he got me to do warm up exercises for my legs while I waited and that seemed to do the trick - and I did about 10 "mini squats" and 8 laps of the bars, 3 with one hand holding the bar and one hand in his to lean on if I needed to, but I didn't. But I declined another sit/stand out of the chair cos was pooped!!
The doctor came to see me on rounds and, without going into more information than anyone wants to know, was able to reassure me I didn't have bowel cancer because I had a colonoscopy in hospital when they were testing me for every damn thing under the sun and apart from some signs of diverticulitis, nothing else was there. What a load off my mind - I thought I was going to have one more cross to bear and wasn't sure I could handle it tho I guess that's a silly thing to say cos if it had happened, I would have had to have handled it, just like everything else!! I am here to say I felt dizzy with relief.
Tea was yummy - and Bread and Butter Pudding for dessert - my very favourite, except for Debbie's Impossible Pie which is similar in texture and taste. Very pleasant to have somethi ng I really like rather than soup alone cos I don't want anything else! I watched "Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang" and thoroughly enjoyed it, specially the special effects like piglets doing synchronised swimming in the pond - shades of Esther Williams! I decided to try to sleep but took me ages to settle down but did eventually. TGIF tomorrow!
