New stash additions |
I still have cobblestones on the machine, large blue and yellow 9 patch blocks, odd orphan blocks and cuts of fabric - and I remember I was doing Bonnie's trick of cutting scraps into 2", 4" and even 6"squares of my scraps (not only quilting fabric but old sewing fabric as well - so will continue to do that once I can stand up for a while. Can't wait for Lolly to get here to be my legs and my "picker-upper" as I'm still pretty uncertain when it comes to bending down to the floor! So today I got a bit enthused and dusted (literally) off the Janome and with a cuppa, went to work - had to clear a space for my iron and mini ironing board but after that, was away.
Whilst I was in GARU, I joined an SCQ Xmas stocking swap to get me back into the SCQ community after so long so am looking forward to that and searching out suitable patterns for the bits that will go into the stocking. Shaaryn (who is co-ordinating the swap) will be picking partners as soon as she can get back into the local area as they were stranded outside of Brisbane by the flood waters.
As I get stronger and more confident, I expect to be starting some of the quilts that I promised people at the beginning of 2010 - 2011 will definitely be the year of the UFO or should that be UFP (Unfinished Promises) - LOL!
